Our design methodology is fundamentally rooted in a phenomenological response to space and form. We believe that architecture transcends mere object-making; it is the art of crafting experiences. Founder of Arestea is Vasily Gogidze – an award winning architect and designer with considerable professional experience of working both in International and local architectural firms, real estate developers. From 2021 he is the CEO and the principal of architecture studio – Arestea.

Vasily Gogidze He has a degree of Master of Architecture from Oxford Brookes University and Bachelors’ degree in architecture from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. He also studied computational mathematics and informatics at Tbilisi State University.

His winning artworks for 2022 Nuclear Power Art Contest were exhibited at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Power in the 21st Century in Washington DC, from 26 to 28 October 2022.
His project for Huailai Wine Culture Centre, 100 000 sq.m. building complex in China, was among the winners of the international competition where number of participants exceeded 2000.

When describing him as an architect it is hard to attribute Mr Gogidze to any particular movements of the field as he sees himself primary as an experimenter seeking to find specific material form for each new enterprise rather than pursuing the unified formal stylistic language. Indeed the power of expression based first of all on the personal strength of vision stands for him stands in a much higher rank of priorities than a mere development of a static professional signature. Similarly to Picasso, whose body of work includes early work, the Blue Period, the Rose Period, the African Period, Cubism, Neoclassicism, Surrealism, and later period. For an inquisitive perfectionist like Vasily Gogidze the everlasting pursuit of the sublime form has led him to approach every single project individually as an opportunity to conduct a new experiment based first of all on the unique context of every programme, thus ensuring the singularity of his work. As Jean Nouvel said “Architecture means transformation, organizing the mutations of what is already there”, on the other hand Architecture for him serves as a determinant of the surrounding space by itself, the creator of a new reality. His work experience is a repeating confrontation between the ineluctable modality of the visible and the desire for the reality to surpass itself, exceeding its objective limits.
